Deutsch: Dieses Bild ist von einem Projekt von Soulpancake (www.soulpancake.com) inspiriert. Soulpancake hat einen Youtube Kanal, auf dem es unter anderem eine Playlist mit diversen Künstlern gibt, die Kunst jeweils zu einem bestimmten Thema schaffen und Zuschauende auffordern es doch auch anzughen. Ich habe also eine Liste von 22 Themen und “Ausgeglichenheit” war Nummer 4 auf diesem Verzeichnis. Es gibt nur wenige Momente in denen mein Hirn ruhig und absolut ruhig ist. Einer dieser Momente ist, wenn ich male, ein anderer ist, wenn ich an meinem Lieblingsort in der Nähe meines Hauses bin. Ich wohne in einer Bergbauregion und es gibt hier viel Halden, die über die Jahre renaturiert wurden und heute richtig schön sind. Auf meiner Lieblingshalde ist ein Open-Air Planetarium und eine riesige Sonnenuhr. Oben auf der Halde bin ich immer inspiriert und bekomme coole Ideen fürs Malen. Das Bild zeigt mich an meinem Lieblingsplatz an der Sonnenuhr, relaxend nach dem Malen, die vorübergehende Stille und Leere in meinem Kopf genießend. Es hat 4,5 Stunden gedauert das Bild zu vollenden.

English: This painting was inspired by a project done by Soulpancake (www.soulpancake.com). On their Youtube Channel they do have – among others – a playlist called Art Attack, where various artists create pieces for a specific topic and dare the watcher to do the same. So I do have a list of 22 themes and “Serenity” was the fourth one to tackle. There are only very few times when my brain is quiet and completely serene. One of those times is during painting, another time is when I’m at my favorite spot near my home town. I’m living in an old mining area and there are a lot of mine tips around that have been recultivated and are really beautiful now. On my favorite one there is an open air planetarium on top and as well as a huge solar clock. Up there on that tip, I always get inspired and have great ideas for painting. The artwork shows me at my favorite spot on the solar clock relaxing after painting, enjoying the momentary serenity and quiet brain. The painting took me 4.5 hours.
